FAQ
Plan for Your Visit
-
We strongly recommend it. While our space is large, we want to maintain a certain atmosphere and noise level. If we have full house and you arrive as a walk-in, we’ll ask you to wait in our lobby area while we invite current guests to wrap up their time.
-
Visits are as long as you’d like to stay. If you decide you want to pop out and return the same day, we’ll stamp your hand.
-
The entry fee is how we make money. Once you’re in, it’s free to enjoy the cozy beverage bar, any of our arts & crafts materials, and the many other activities we have available.
Additional fees may apply for events run by partner organizations or events that require the purchase of special materials.
-
For visits, we prefer you to book online. If you’re a walk-in, we only accept credit cards.
-
We are in The “People” Phase of Cat People. (More info here.) We have one shop cat, Paprika, who you may see when you’re here. Although he is a very handsome boy and loves affection, please be respectful of his space if he needs to take a break.
-
Nope!
-
We offer several hot beverages at no additional cost. In the future we may expand to selling cold beverages and packaged snacks. To keep the kitties safe, local regulations only allow us to serve items that are shelf-stable/do not require refrigeration. If you want recommendations for places to pop out to for a meal during your visit, ask a staff member!
-
We’re open to all ages!
If you're visiting with children, we require one adult present for every two children under the age of 12. Children 12 to 14 require at least one adult in their group.
For example, a group of four 8-year-olds would need two adults. A group of four 13-year-olds would need one adult present.

We deeply respect and understand the importance of service animals, and we know they have undergone rigorous training to be at your side. However, because the very nature of our business includes the presence of cats, we are unable to allow service animals inside Cat People. Regardless of a service animal’s behavior, their presence can cause significant stress to our cats. Ensuring the cats’ well-being is our top priority, and this policy helps maintain a calm and safe environment for them.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) generally requires businesses to allow service animals, but it also provides specific exemptions. In cases where a service animal’s presence would fundamentally alter the nature of the business or create legitimate health and safety concerns, businesses are permitted to restrict access. As a cat cafe, we fall under this exemption due to the potential stress and harm that service animals could cause to the cats. We appreciate your understanding and support of our goal to provide a safe and calm environment for the cats in our care.
As a brand new business, we are approaching this matter with extreme caution and no exceptions. In the future, we are interested in finding ways to connect with guests we aren’t immediately able to accommodate. If you have ideas or simply would like to be in conversation on this topic, please reach out to our Creative Director by emailing colby@catpeopleden.com.

Activities and Events
-
Our goal is to host events and promote activities that appeal to “indoorsy folks” and can be enhanced with cats. In the early days of our business, we are introducing guests to the many crafts and games we offer by holding scheduled activities — but, of course, those crafts and games are available any time you visit!
In the future, we intend to partner with local organizations and small businesses to present events that will appeal to a wide range of audiences. Stay tuned, and let us know if you have ideas! -
Quite possibly! Please contact us to discuss it.
-
We’d love to discuss it with you! We encourage local organizations and small businesses to reach out so we can schedule a time to talk about collaboration. Contact us here.
Our Operations
-
We are not currently hiring. We’d be happy to keep your resume on file because there will be employment opportunities in the future, as we settle in and expand. Please email your resume to Jackson, our Managing Director.
-
No, not really. In the future, there may be opportunities for guests we know well to become leaders within the Cat People community by assisting with crafts or helping socialize cats on days we’re closed.
-
We are not. There may be an opportunity for us to create a sister non-profit organization (a shelter run by Cat People, instead of a partner shelter) in the future.
-
Thank you so much for your interest in donating! Since we’re not a non-profit, we don’t receive tax-deductible donations. However, in the future there may be opportunities to help fund special projects.
